Inherited through an acquisition of Galaxie Brands at the end of 2020, Cruuzy was a
west-coast-style brand that arrived with some reputation and authenticity challenges. It was a brand that needed a story and consumer trust, to go with its sometimes contradicting façade.
Through a strategic focus on transparency and authenticity, Cruuzy evolved to become a brand built on education, limited editions, and variety— an exploration of craft growers across Canada, with industry-first innovation that put it all out on the table.

Brand Development
From 2020-2022, Cruuzy evolved to become a brand of distinct identity and values. “West-coast beach vibes” was a year-round ethos that was deliberate and unapologetic, even in the winter holiday season.
Cruuzy’s reputation grew through authentic products and transparency. This consistent and well refined ethos brought Cruuzy award-winning industry recognition.

Product Innovation
Cruuzy’s portfolio came to represent a collection of industry-first innovation, and small-batch craft.
Cruuzy’s Supercharged Duubyz (later changed to SprChrgd Duubyz), was one of the legal industries first infused pre-rolls. It was, however, the first pre-roll to be infused with rosin! No isolate, no distillate.
Rosin Charged Hash was another industry-first. Solventless hash infused with solventless rosin, rolled into a glossy temple ball. This was the first solventless hash to be infused with another form of extract— designed to appeal to the traditionalist hash consumers and the curious explorers.

Digital Strategy
Cruuzy’s digital strategy evolved to become award-winning and industry leading.
Cruuzy engaged budtenders and consumers through multi-channel marketing, both owned and paid media. Through Social Media channels like Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit, Cruuzy became a market leader producing engaging original content.
Consumer and budtender newsletters helped keep all audiences up to date on the latest launches and product drops.
Custom retail support pages gave access to all digital assets and easy ordering of print assets, with no complicated digging.

Successfully managed industry-leading retail, trade, and sales support strategy. Created foundations for lasting in-market SKU support resulting in multi-year SKU distribution and sales growth.
With often abstract innovative products, Cruuzy strove to become an industry leader in budtender training, through storytelling experiences and supporting easy to read material.
